Prof. Govinda Paudyal is the Academic Chief and Retinal Surgeon at Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (TIO). He is also the Professor and co-coordinator of the Subject Committee, Ophthalmology in the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS). He completed his MD in Ophthalmology from the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University, Nepal, in 1996. Additionally, he pursued a highly prestigious postgraduate one-year clinical fellowship in vitreo-retina at the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital, Australia, in 2000.
Paudyal is a renowned cataract and vitreo-retina surgeon. He has visited remote areas of Nepal and abroad, performing cataract surgical camps. A life member of the Nepal Ophthalmic Society (NOS) and Nepal Vitreo-Retina Society (NVRS), Dr. Paudyal has conducted extensive hospital-based and community-based research in cataract and retina surgery over the past two decades. He has been honored with the Distinguished Service Award by the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO).
